You can get the Philips VR1000 for about 260ukp street price which sounds
good to me.

personally i'd go for the panasonic HD 675 - (OK it's £270) but
ask for discount!

super picture / sound quality and the excellent Tape Library
system

i've got the HD 685 which is the same apart from added shuttle
jog / editing functions - it is superb apart from a few minor
niggles.

They're not infallible though - my 685 is still in the repair shop after 6
weeks; it's only 5 months old. Awful sound quality; hopefully be fixed in time
for the GP.

Wish I'd have bought an S-VHS machine but none seem to have a Tape Library
System which really is superb on a VCR.

What niggles have you found Mr. Keeper?

Pat.
