Hi gang,

I was thinking of buying the Tosh 32WD98B, but I've spoken to one dealer
who says he has an import model - 32WD96G - which he says is identical
other than it is just Nicam and doesn't come with a stand. He says he'll
let me have it for £750 inc. delivery.

I'm more than happy to skip the in-built dolby digital as I'd rather go
the separates route anyway, and I also want to custom build my own
cabinet so that's not a problem either.

I'm very tempted to buy this TV but have never bought an import anything
and am slightly worried about the idea so I thought I'd ask your
opinion.

Are there any problems associated with buying an import TV?

First thing first. I would check online at Toshiba's web site to make sure
that this tv is almost the same spec. A good thing to check is the number of
connectors/scarts this set has compared to the UK model. One thing springs
to mind - what is the operating voltage of this set ? It may need a
transformer to run. If you are happy with what you see, then check what
warranty/guarantee will be offered with this set. I don't know what is the
retail price of the UK set so is this set a bargain or are you just saving
£100 (approx) If you are then i would just go for the UK spec model.

i have heard that you can now buy the 32" tosh for around
the 750 pound mark any way so its not such a good deal
i have the digital 32" tosh and think it is a fabulous set
even though i dont use the digital side because i too
prefered the separates side of things
