It isn't. The S715 is a Region 2 (PAL) market only player. Its nearest
international equivalent is the S7000.

The nearest international equivalent to the 715 in terms of general build
quality, feature set and performance is the 7000.
All this talk about first and second generation players is, by and large,
distracting bollocks (so your bottom comment ain't too far out. ;-)
If the DVD1000 from Shatsung Electronics performs better than every other
model on the market despite all the other manufacturers having had two bites
at the cherry, it's still the best player available, and that's all that
ultimately
matters.

It's just that I want a DVD with top CD playiback too, so the 715 seemed
like a natural choice, but I'd rather Region 1 than 2, so I was just
wondering what player would do. If the 909 was a bit cheaper, with its LD
playback, I'd probably get that, but its 700 squid, so perhaps not :-( 600
is about my limit... That's why I was hoping to import for less than 600.
