Definately 'large'. 'small' sounds terrible.

Short answer - select SMALL for the centre, and set "1D. LFE/BASS OUT"
to MAIN.
Here's the long answer. Hope it helps.
You have CC6 centre and 603 mains, right? The 603s are going to cope
pretty well with bass signals (including the LFE signal). Not that the
CC6 is any slouch, but it won't be able to dig anything like as deep as
the 603s. If you select "large" for the CC6, you'll find that effects
that "go off" in the centre channel (which is most of them) won't carry
the bass weight of effects that take place to the left or right of the
screen. You'll have a mis-match on any sound with bass content that pans
across the front three speakers.
(Which is why I recommended a few days ago that you stretch to a set of
three LCR6s.... best way to match the front three is to use the same speaker!)
So on balance I would choose "small" for the centre. This will redirect
the low bass appearing on the centre channel to the "subwoofer" mix
(this contains the LFE signal, plus any bass you redirect to it using
the "small" setting).
You must then get the subwoofer mix to go to the main left and right
speakers by selecting "main" in the "1D. LFE/BASS OUT" option.
Unfortunately, using "small" tends to compromise the performance of that
channel, even with fairly small speakers. You can definitely hear the
roll-off at 100Hz or wherever it is. The CC6 itself will sound a bit
better on large, but the overall balance against the 603s won't be as
good as setting it to small.
The other problem will be that you won't be able to control the level of
the redirected bass that goes to the 603s. You may either get too much
(all centre effects seem too bassy) or too little. Depends on the
sensitivity of the 603s relative to the CC6. You'll just have to try it
and see if it feels okay. It'll probably be fine, but if it all seems
too bass-heavy, all you can do is set the centre back to LARGE.
Hope I haven't simply made things more confusing. Have fun.
