Hi!

I am new to this ng and I beg pardon if the question has been already
answered
I also apologize for my bad English (I'm Italian)

I saw a Loewe Xelos 28" and I loved the picture and the style.
Besides it's the only one who fits very well on the tv stand.

I would appreciate any comment about.

Is it worthy the money ?
Is it so negative the fact that the screen is not completely flat ?

I saw that the model 5970 xelos@media features a full digital 100Hz
processing
while the 5270 not. Does it make any significant difference in picture
quality ? Is it worthy paying the difference, even if I am not
interested in the media connectivity ?

Is it still a good purchase even if the model is a few years old ?

Any owners with bad experience ?

Thank you very much for your attention.

Yours, Franco

P.S.: what do you think about Grundig Arganto as an alternative option
?

Beside that I would opt for the 32" version I really think that the Xelos
has value for the money. instead of making a fairly good flatscreen they
have created a really sharp and vivid tube that outperforms the competitors
in quality for the price even though some (including me) preffer
flatscreen. I looked at this model before I opted for the (more expensive)
aconda.

Better a bit shaped than flat and not tack sharp in the corners as the
cheap to mid class flatscreens are.

agreed. I have the 32" and the picture is lovely. It's worth the extra
for the 32", not sure of what the @media spec actually gives you. The
one I have has the full 100Hz digital stuff which is fine with dvd but
exagerates a lot of artifacts in poor quality NTL(digital cable)
transmissions.

it is a good set -excellent.
i actually ordered one as 28" was the biggest set i could go for but it was
out of stock and would have taken 3 months to get so i went for an aconda
instead -same insides as the xelos just missing the vga which can be added
afterwards, flat screen 32" and it fitted.
ask yourself if you really need the VGA as a xelos without would be a lot
less expensive.
i think the sets have been updated recently so the top NON VGA model is the
same except for the lack of VGA.
as for being a few years old -they are not.
unlike other manufacturers loewe do not bring out new sets with a different
name, they keep the same model name but change the electronics inside.
a xelos purchased today will be a lot different to a xelos purchased 3 years
ago.
