Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice with my KV36FS70. I recently got an OnDigital
box (the Nokia) to join the digital TV revolution and I have it connected to
the TV via scart to the RGB input.

However, when I call up the TV's menu I cannot switch between 50Hz and
100Hz. Yet with the DVD - connected via S-Video cable - I can (although
when I switch over to the normal TV sometimes, I still cannot change the
scan rate).

Any thoughts as to why this is? Am I missing something? Is this something
normal with RGB?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Ben.

RGB bypasses the tv options in many cases. Your tv may not allow you to
amend the 50/100hz settings.

hi ben,
before I bought my plasma, I had the sony 36" and I was first faced with the
same problem; the easiest way to overcome the problem is to switch it to
drc50 when the tv lets you and leave it there; it will then stay there even
in rgb. I personally left the fs70 in drc50 permanentely, as it increases
the filmlike appearence of pictures and removes the linestructure; apart
from that the geometry of the set changes slightly between 50 and 100, and I
set the geometry in the servicemenu in drc 50 and was able to leave it. I
did however notice, to come back to the original question, that sometimes
the tv would let me switch between 50 and 100 even in rgb. no idea why that
is, but it did not worry me too much; in drc50 that tv has got the best
picture of any directview-set I know.
good luck

Hi Ben,

That's odd; it is switchable on my set via the Picture Adjustment menu. Are
you accessing the menu via this menu?

Mike.

Hi Thomas,

First off, thanks for all the replies I've had to this post.

You've all pretty much confirmed what I thought, but it's a;ways nice to
have someone concur with you!
I've been doing what you suggested, Thomas, and I think I'll continue to do
so!

Thanks again to all who replied.

Regards,

Ben.
