I've just purchased a Sony KV32FX60 and I was expecting a split screen
/ text facility on it - at least that is what the specs I read listed.
There are three buttons on the remote which look like candidates - two
showing various combinations of TV screens with portions marked and
arrows on, the last with just a single vertical arrow on. However, all
three buttons are listed as "Button has no function on this set".
The actual model is a KV32FX60B which I understand is the French
origin set. The manual came as a photocopy.
I phoned the company which supplied it and they were baffled - they
said that they had not heard of any of these sets without this
feature, but said that if Sony had changed their spec, then it was
basically my problem and not theirs (helpful - not).
They asked if my normal picture-in-picture was working - but that
doesn't seem to be present either.
Can anybody tell me for definite whether these features should be on
my set (as I understood it) and therefore whether I should start
causing a fuss...
As an aside, I have a fourth button which doesn't have a function
(well it is one of the fast-text colours in text mode) - a TV screen
gridded into 4x4 with the centre 2x2 filled black - I am guessing this
a mosaic function on some sets?
Thanks.
Ralph.
I understand the remote is one universal to a lot of the Sony sets and the
PIP buttons you mention are only there to tease us. ;-)
