Does anybody know if they will be releasing the unrated version of Scream
(1996) on DVD, with the extra scenes that were removed from the US & UK
versions?

I only have a VHS copy of Scream, which has all the cut scenes in.

Thanks

S. A.

The Unrated cut is available from Japan (R2, NTSC).

Which scenes are you thinking of?

Does that mean you have the scenes that _were_ cut, or scenes that _are_
cut?

Doesn't this have un-removable subtitles?

Thanks

The scenes that were cut from both the US and UK versions:

- Steve's guts pour out of him as Casey looks on.
- Casey hanging from the tree was time compressed in the film release (it is
at normal speed here).
- When Tatum meets her death by garage door, her head is flattened.
- After Kenny the cameraman's throat is cut, he looks up at his killer.
- Billy clearly loses control as he delivers his final cuts to Stuart.
- After Billy and Stuart have finished stabbing each other, there is a shot
of Stu's hand dripping blood into a puddle, with Sydney's father looking on.

The NTSC Uncut VHS version I have includes all those scenes above.

I heard that the R1 DVD is the cut one, which doesn't include those scenes.

Thanks

No, not according to http://www.dvddebate.com/article.php3?sid=980 anyway.

I have the Japanese DVD, and it has two versions of the film. The Director's
Cut with the differences listed, and also the orignal theatrical cut.
Subtitles can be removed from both versions, and sound is available in
English Dolby Digital 5.1. The video is also anamorphic, and the disc
contains two or so Japanese trailers, and a ten minute or so english
featurete on the film. Quite pricy though.

How much does it cost?

From what I have heard disney won't release any unrated movies and that's
why it hasn't been released. Is this true?

Thanks

No, it doesn't.

Japanese subtitles are turned on by default, but you *can* turn them
off.
