My friend works at Fox and got an advance screening, he was very
disappointed as were a lot of other people he works with.

PG-13 rating in the states (prob 12A here). Not looking good.
You'd think they'd know better than to hire Anderson to direct, if
they don't want to be disappointed. It's as though they prefer to hire
a cheap director who they know will make a movie that sucks but may
get its money back, rather than take a risk hiring a first-timer who
might make a good movie but might, in the worst case, make another
'Thunderbirds'.

Arrrgh, I hate that so much. Alien and Predator are both meant to be
nothing less than 18. It's not supposed to be for kids, FFS! Sad to see
an amazing opportunity squandered just for the sake of getting schoolkids
bums on seats. :o(

If only for the fact of seeing either a alien burst out of someone's chest
or the image of the alien alone.
What happened to good old violent 18 films? at least they usually have more
realism to them.
Can't stand the 12A rating.

Yeah he said for the most part whenever humans are being killed the scenes
are in darkness with flashes of the Predators and close of of someone
screaming but no actual violence on screen, just use of imagination. He did
say that as a Predator fan just seeing them again and hear the famous
Predator cackle was cool, plus some Predator takes on a few hundred Aliens,
which he also said was quite impressive.

Soldier and Resident Evil must have been like salt in the wound then ;-)
