I would like to get an all in one style remote for my system, but since my
DB925 has the two way remote thingy, I'm not sure if it will be compatible
with any of the remotes I've seen. The two I was most interested in was the
Harmon Kardon TC1000 and the Sony one, which I thought would be able to
handle it. But on asking at my local Sony dealer, he said the Sony RC wasnt
compatible with the 925. Does anybody have or know of an RC which will work
with this unit? Or am i doomed to 4 remotes for all eternity

You know, the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common:
they don't alter their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit
the views,
which can be uncomfortable, if you happen to be one of the facts that needs
altering.

Philips Pronto works fine with the Sony STR-DB925 and STR-DB930. When
teaching any learning remote the codes for the 925 or 930 remote don't do it
in the same room as the receiver as the 2-way chit chat buggers it up. I
notice also on my 930 that you can knock the 2-way functionality off at the
reciever anyway.

Pete.

This is interesting. I was thinking of buying both the 930
Amp and the RMAV2000 Remote. Are you saying they aren't
compatible?

Fear not it should work.
I have the 925 amp and the RMAV200 remote. The only problem I had was
getting the remote to select dvd.
I had to teach it to select dvd. I tried a few techniques but eventually
sorted it. I did have some instructions when I was programming it. I will
look at home if you need more help. (I`m at work at the moment)

Excellent remote. Even the wife can work it and loves it.

None of the after-market remotes support two-way communication. If you
can live with one way only then other factors will affect which remote
is best for you.

If you want to keep the two-way communication, then you'll have to keep
the original remote for the amp at least.

Cheers, if I buy it this weekend and have trouble, I'll holler.
