Having recently visited a museum in Lancaster, that has quite a large
collection of military memorabilia on local regiments, might I suggest that
you contact a museum close to where your father was based to ask if they are
interested in your photos?
It would be a shame to give up ownership of such irreplaceable items,
perhaps you could negotiate an extended loan, renewable say every 5 years?
Sandy
Liz,
as Sandy says it would be well worth contacting the military museum
which is connected with the Royal Hussars. My partner was with a couple
of Hussar regiments out in Bosnia and knows a few officers so I could
ask her to ask around if you can't find contacts any other way.
The other thing you should consider doing is getting them scanned and
exhibiting them on the web.

Is that the same regiment that was invoved in the charge of the Light
Brigade? (A bit before your Dad's time, I know). If so I think their
regimental museum is at a place called Cannon Hall. Try this link.

Alternatively you might like to contact the Barnsley Branch of the Royal
British Legion as they might have a few pointers.
As a last resort you could contact the Imperial War Museum in London but I
think this would be rather missing the point as the 13/18th was a northen
regiment and such valuable records (IMHO) should stay within the communities
where the regiment recruited from.
Good luck with your enquiries.
