No reason to post this here other than the fact that I think it's still one
of the funniest sketches I have ever seen ...

Benny Hill was not to my taste but I greatly admired his material.
He was clever and inventive. His comedy was either visual --
Chaplin-esque: sight gags and under-cranked cameras, or verbal -- the
headmaster's speech. 'Simpson! Leave nurse's watch fob alone! Yes -- I
know it's worth watching!'

When Thames sold his tapes to US network TV they cleverly chopped out
the verbal sketches and left the Chaplin stuff. Nevertheless the way
they treated him was shabby. Maybe he had passed his sell-by date but
I'd rather see him than many of the so-called comics of today,
including the repulsive Graham Norton.

BH actually sang a lot of my stuff wot I done wrote many moons ago.
They started in the 1970s I think: the days of Bulganin and Kruschev.
Remember them?

I'm Mr K from Moscow way
I'm leader of the Reds
I came to power in one fine hour
Helped by my Russian teds.

Each he and she
And family tree to me they all exhault
I wine and dine with women and wine
While my comradea dig up salt

In the Kremlin Towers
We've got Gary Powers
He sure is feeling blue
There'll be no more spying or midnight flying
And that goes for U2.

Now Bulganin I didn't like him
I thought he was bore
At a White House scene
he sang Nellie Dean
And started our cold war.

There's a lot more but I'll spare you the misery.

BH unfortunately lived in times when the TV networks produced
programming in house, in his case Thames TV, a few years later
he could of set up his own production company.

I'm surprised that one of the early independent producers
didn't sign him up
