_Which country's_ tax is paid is what you should be asking yourselves,
folks, because if it's not UK tax, then it's illegal:

Illegal for the *vendor* (which will be a spanish company). The
ads in Private Eye I saw for a similar service claimed that if
you're asked to pay duty, you refuse to accept delivery and the
supplier would refund the order value (which they claimed had
never happened).
