He was a famous TV personality who died in the 1970's.

Can anyone remember when he died and how? I seem to recall it was very
macabre.

Thanks / Diolch

That's rather vague. Anywhere with more detail?

I seem to recall watching a programme on the telly that dismissed the idea
of 'spontaneous human combustion'. They 'proved' it by demonstrating the
wick effect (they used a pig I think, or a student) wrapped in clothing and
as the body burnt, the fat dripped onto the clothing causing the temperature
to be of such ferocity in a combined space that the body looked like it had
burnt from the inside.

Is this fact or just another programme I saw on the telly?

**Yes a fact. It was shown twice. They set a pig on fire under
**conditions similar to that where bodies had spontaneous burnt.
**
**The body burnt slowly but at a high enough temperature to leave only
the
**limbs remaining.

yer i watched that, well interesting , now i know what to do to get
rid of the body

If it was a pig's body, why not just eat it. Hell, why not just do that
anyway Mr. Lector did.

Yes, it was. Derek was playing a role for which he needed a plastic
jacket. The garment caught fire and, while he was recovering from the
burns in hospital, he caught pneumonia which proved fatal.

A most accomplished musician (voice and double bass) and comedian, I
still miss him.

He was the original Nigel Wyn in the Teulu Ni sketches on the "Ryan a
Ronnie" series. All four members of that "family", Ryan, Ronnie, Derek
and Myfanwy Talog, died far too young.

Dafydd.

It was not a plastic jacket it was a costume made of string like material
that had NOT been properly fire-proofed. Although he had been warned of this
he was smoking in huis dressing room when it caught fire.

He died two or three years ago. His was the body found on a beach, to
which someone else referred in this thread.
