Hello I attended this "wonderful" school during the years 79 to 84 and
was wondering what happened to some of the people in my year,
My name was Lorna Jones and to help with the year I am now 29 and will
be 30 in December.
As this is the first posting on this subject I have done I will not bore
with anymore details as this would make poor reading. So I will await
your replies and comments..

Thanks in advance.

Lorna, you and I have a lot in common. I never went to the
same school as you. Isn't it amazing that I was 29 once ! And, although
you'd never believe this in a million years, I was 30 on my next
birthday !!!!! Truth is really better than fiction, isn't it ?
I can play Bridge quite well and will resist the compulsion
to take your name in vain. I also have cousins in Rhyl. So, I'm not
perfect.

Boy have you sent me down memory lane big time....

Mr Urquart - Maths teacher quite pleasant if I remember rightly but he
left around 81/82
Mr Weaver - Boy did that name send shivers down my spine. We didn't
really get on very well as I totally failed to grasp the finer details
of chemistry.. AND STILL DON'T. But I do remember one amusing
afternoon where he burnt his hand on some chemical or other ( I know
sounds cruel but we were kids and he hated us) and then he put his hand
in his pocket and burnt his pocket too...

Mr Cox was one of the schools best English teachers and he made a big
impression on me as did Mrs Greenhalgh .. I have a lot to thank them for
but above all my favorite teacher was Mr Fletcher ( geography ).

Do you also remember Mr Hughes Geography whose policy on class
discipline left a lot to be desired with the odd flying fist and shoe ..

Any way thanks for reminding me....

hey, I dont want to barge in and I dont know if the account you're using is even active anymore, but I currently go to ysgol Clywedog/Bryn Offa. I dont know what it was like back then but I started in 2018 and I will end in 2023. I'm currently a year 10 student who was born in 2007, I'm turning 15 this year.

from pictures ive seen of the school back in the 70s and 80s, it looks very different from what it does now, and the uniform has changed a lot aswell, did you wear blazers or jumpers back then? I wore jumpers in year 7 with red and green ties but in year 8 they changed it to navy blazers and black and blue ties. they changed the PE uniform aswell, to these stupid sports t-shirts that cost like £20 each (included with sports jumpers and leggings/shorts/scorts) I personally prefer the dark blue PE clothes with the collars, they are a little less provocative (the female sports t-shirts dont have any buttons and have really short sleeves) and plus I'm pretty sure the dark navy PE tops dont really have a gender other than the male ones have slightly longer sleeves.

I feel like everything at the school has become something about money, all they want is money, the uniforms are expensive, the jumpers are £20 and they are really thin and you can make holes really easy. also the blazers are like £37 I think, and considering that the majority of people that go to my school usually dont have the money to continuously get these stuff is kind of stupid of the school to do that, also on the fact that a lot of the stuff the school sell dont last that long without breaking (other than the ties)

anyways, I dont know if this account is active anymore but hopefully it is :)) anyways look at these videos of me participating in school activity's. if you want to see more of who I am, reply and I will give you my email.
