No way mate, I'm losing brain cells as fast as you are, but see if this
is any good I first saw you (with Dave Roberts in Godchild) at the
Tiger Moth, Meir. I particularly liked the CSNY stuff you used to do.
You played a 12 string and inspired me to buy one, which I still have.

In the sixties, what later became the Out of Town was the Plough,
notorious as a pick-up place for prostitutes. I seem to remember the
landlord was actually convicted for allowing the pub to be a "habitual
resort of prostitutes". It was then closed for a while, and re-opened
some time in the 70s as the Out Of Town.
Also in Town Road was the Sea Lion, an old pub with a stableyard which
was demolished to build the Potteries Shopping Centre. I certainly
played there in the early 70s.

Yep, that's the one. "The Sea Lion". Very atmospheric, not bad acoustics and
a good bread-and-butter gig for local bands 60's onward, but sod those
stairs when you've drunk your limit.
Yep, Keith Fisher was *the* local booking agent way back then, later
converted his Hope St premises to a fine second-hand bookshop. Remember
'Carol' Keith's assistant of old? I think the only other agent in those days
was one Dave Daniels, lawyer.
To help us break this trance of sweet nostagia, somebody better mention
"Sparky "

Keith is *gone*, I believe. Moved somewhere more mundane for a couple of
years prior to that. Where's that place - land of the second-hand bookshops?
Ross-on-Wye or summat soundalike?
Was just trying to recall the most-played covers of the Sixties. I think
Eddie Floyd's "Knock on Wood" was one of 'em. "Midnight Hour"? Ey-up, where
did I put me flairs?

That'll be Hay on Wye.
