The large number of MEN re-posts there got rather ridiculous quickly, sorry for upsetting you.
For those that like to read current media news in text, I have recently set up a private server at news.html.fail which features text feeds from Manchester Evening News among others. Also there is a web frontend at http://news.html.fail/ where you can view the newsgroups and also post to the public.* groups.
Currently featuring hourly updated feeds from:
* BBC
* Guardian
* Independent
* Reuters
* Manchester Evening News
* The Register [pending]
More are planned and requests for feeds are accepted. Please see and contribute to the group public.discuss accordingly.
