Two cheers for the ticket office at Altrincham Railway Station.
On arriving there around 8pm on Wednesday - and wanting to
check out the time of the next train to Stockporrt - I found the
ticket office shut down, with only visible the wall mounted timetable
trapped within the gloom of the shut diown foyer area such that you
couldn't get near it & would need a pair of 10x50 binoculars to read
it! (and there wasna a timetable anywhere else near the ticket office
eg on Metro platform.

One wonders which clown thought that up!!!
Meanwhile - at Stalybridge, we had two ticket collectors, two coppers
and three blokes in long black overcoats (who for al the world looked
like night club bouncer types) nabbing fare dodgers.
FIVE PEOPLE to catch a couple of runners: overkill surely...
