Sash windows weights

Does anyone have one, or two sash windows weights which are made out of cast iron. I am not after anything that is lead because these are going to be used in the public arena to help close a gate using gravity...and I don't want the weights to have intrinsic value to travellers.
I am interested in collecting these in an area within 20 miles of Brigg North Lincolnshire.
I can buy these, but by the time I have paid the postage the price is over £20!
I know usenet is not a favoured medium anymore...but hey..I can hope.

I do not know how to help you these days.........but I guess the best way is
to seek out old houses which are being upgraded....perhaps a builder or
glazier could help.....let them know what you are in the market for, and
give them your contact details........I think the tradesmen are your best

Yes....the old Usenet groups are going out of popularity due to the
expanding internet.....try Googling "Window sash weights" or something like
that.

Thanks guys....I tried eBay and there were dozens of entries but collect from hundreds of miles away!
I live in hope that someone (who still looks at usenet) would know someone who knew someone who had some they hadn't got rid of.

....and yes from the first google page that comes up there is mighton sash weights..... They do what I want but by the time I get it to me the postage makes the cost over twenty quid.
The use is actually for a kissing gate which needs to be kept closed against a post for animal safety. Since this is a public arena I don't want travellers to find them useful to nick.
