Oh Gawd, what am I doing...????!!

Can anyone out there recommend a good painter and decorator, one who doesn't
wear spurs and a stetson and ties up his horse outside the close....
I am thinking of redecorating the livingroom before Xmas, but I cannot face
doing it myself. Also cannot face looking through yellow pages - you just
don't know what you're dealing with, and there are too many to know where to
start.
My flat is tiny: I can't imagine it would take more than a day to slap up
some wallpaper and paint it.
Can anyone tell me how much someone would charge for a room that would take
7-8 rolls of wallpaper to cover it?

Any suggestions?

Get the ready pasted stuff. It's great, you cut it, roll it up inside
out dip it in a poly trough filled with warm water, leave it a few
minutes to activate the paste and as you lift it out it just unrolls.
No mess. Great stuff.
