What's the correct pronunciation for Yare ?
Is it yair, as in 'yea man, far out' (hippie talk !), or yar, as in
Yarmouth ?
Also, does anyone know if water-skiing on the Broads is going to be
banned ?

Many Thanks

Philip,

I've lived in Norfolk (north coast and Norwich) most of my life, and only
heard it pronounced to rhyme with fair (but I stand to be corrected by any
real Yarmouth locals!)

Water skiing should be banned on some stretches but maybe put them
altogether in one area
