Did they sing "owner of a lonely heart" ?
I love their music and have the "90125" album.

I'm bi, but I like Yes. I certainly prefer their 70s stuff to
almost everything they've done since. (Though the "Keys to
Ascension" studio tracks are good.)

I thought they were still going- intermittently, Verity Sharpe was
drooling over Jon Anderson and talking about a forthcoming concert
on Radio 3's Late Junction on Monday

Still definitely going, one (excellent, I'm told) gig at the
Hammersmith Apollo a few weeks ago, and were supposed to be playing
Hyde Park in a week's time. Unforch the promoter went bust, so I can't
go to that concert.
If you can go see them just now, please do - I'm told they're really
on form. Setlist for the Hammersmith gig available on request...

I put 'Close To The Edge' on just before opening this post. Spookeh.

Should I put it all in a lorry and set fire to it somewhere
so we can have a vinyl party?

Dare?
Speaking of vinyl I'm very tempted to buy a conventional turntable
again. It wouldn't be used a lot, but there are those old records you
can't find on CD now. I know I only need to record them into the
computer once and for all, but for some reason there is a particular
charm in the black things.
Oh well, it's still oddly funny to hear an old Eurythmics B-side coming
from digits but including static and scratches. :)
My Archos FM Recorder Jukebox can take the aux output from an amplifier
and mp3 on the fly. I'm going to mp3 some of my old vinyl operas that
way (especially my copy of Rigoletto - a golden 1950's recording) and my
copies of Magyar Gregorianum (never availble on CD).
I'll tell you how the quality works out.

Thanks, I know it's feasable because I have a copy of Eurythmics' Tous
les garçons et les filles de mon âge on the MP3 walkman now, but it
really shows the limitation of the source (and the mistreatment it has
been subjected to).
I don't really have the tools to repair it, just did a little patching
up with sharewares so it's not too rustic. The direct encoding you have
seems a good idea, for that matter.
And now on for the real challenge: finding a 78 rpm turntable I can
record from. :)
Do they still sell those?

I still have one - well it has a switch for that speed, not sure I've ever tried it!
Richer sounds (www.richersounds.com) have two Limit turntables advertised as
3-speed - DJ3500 direct-drive with pitch control GBP150 ...
or the DJ3500SE at GBP200 ... ditto, with digital output for connection to a
digital recorder.
Should I mention they sell gift vouchers in all their stores and accept
Euros :-)

Thanks for the search - I've been known to carry an annoying bag from
their shops for a long walk through the city then a picnic and then the
trip home, so a turntable shouldn't be too much now... :)

Tempting - after all my birthday is only in 11 months. :)

They show up on eBay a lot. I have an old Dansette that a friend
donated, for this very purpose :)
