If true this "leak" gives an insight into what could be a very good E3
for Microsoft
* Microsoft start first at 6.30pm GMT+0:00.
* Epic Games to show some gorm of Gears of War 2 Trailer.
* Microsoft have bought the Star Wars Battlefront 3 rights. Trailer/Demo
to be shown.
* Apparently there's news of a MGS Game for the 360. May or may not be
the 4th Installment.
* New Crimson Skies game to be announced.
* Rare to show off Banjo Kazooie 3 (Banjo-Theerie).
* Rare to announce 2 new games.
* Rare to announce Kameo 2.
* Lionhead Studios show more of Fable 2.
* Microsoft to fund a new game based on Jason Bourne. It'll be based on
the books and not the film with Matt Damon.
* Bungie working on new title/series not related to anything in the
Halo/Marathon Universe.
* Team Ninja to show off Ninja Gaiden 2. Labeled 360 Exclusive.
* Dead Rising 2 to be shown. May not be ready.

This is *not* a good thing.
If done right this could be a great game
but it'll just be another FPS and you know it. :)

Kameo was OK. and VP was a masterpiece.

Well they need someone to write the cutsey wacky- "hey this is a
hammer! This is a nail! This is your X button! Press your X button to
use the hammer on the nail! Press it again! Press it again!"
Style of games.
Personally, I quite liked PDZ, especially online.
Also, if you count XBLA, Jetpac:Refuelled was ace.
So, of their 360 releases, I make that:
2 excellent games (VP & J:R).
1 pretty decent game (PDZ).
1 game that split opinion a bit (Kameo).
Not sure that it justifies the huge amount that MS paid for them, but
compared to a lot of other companies, it's not a bad return.

PDZ was pretty good as an online game - infection was particularly
entertaining. The solo play sucked big time. As I remember, the first two
or three levels were really good then things went downhill rapidly. If you
were lucky there was one save point, some levels didn't have them at all. I
ended up playing on easy just to get through it as I got bored with dying
and having to repeat 30 minutes of work just to die again.
It's biggest and most unforgiveable crime was that I only got 10 points for
completing the game. 10 points. Grrrrrr.

One of the few 360 games I've given up on. Too hard by far. Needed an easy
mode. Problem was that as soon as you died once you were screwed as you
went back to the piddly laser. And there wasn't any reason to keep picking
up the laser upgrades. Once you got to laser level 3 you were left with a
'do I risk getting another and hoping 2 more quickly drop' or just keeping
your 3 way laser. Actually I think JPR is just simply broken. I don't mind
difficult games. I do mind when Jochta gets further than I managed too.
:-)

It's still one of the best games I've played on the 360. The rest of you
are wrong.

Weren'r Rare going down the tubes before MS bought them? Was it ever
published how much MS paid? I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were
quite cheap as Nintendo probably just wanted rid.

Fansite Beyond Unreal got in touch with Epic's Mark Rein who said, "We
are not announcing a sequel to Gears of War at E3 this year. Did you
see the update we just did for Gears of War last week? We're still
working on the first one."
Rare have always been very secretive, all we know that is on the horizon
is a new Banjo game.
i liked kameo, VP was ok if you like that sort of thing, i got quickly
bored of it though.
Rare have underperformed though, and it's not exactly like they've
been prolific.
i mean, didn't they only manage to release one game on the original
xbox, Grabbed by the Ghoulies?
and even that was shit.
The N64 was their golden era and they've failed miserably to live up
to that benchmark since.
I'd prefer a 3rd person but still, I personally don't mind shooters as
long as they're done well, like gears, and that bioshock game looks good too
Also, Conker.
> and even that was shit.
Comment also applies to Conker.
Chris.

Conker is one of the few old Xbox games I never got round to playing. Is it
not worth the effort then?

Online absolutely stank - what a load of shite that was. IMO.
forgot about Conker. only played the demo of that, and wasn't too
enthralled by it.
