It's the same game, but includes a soundtrack album.

Basically the same game, same price but with an additional CD, that
contains music from the game. A little PROMO to get more sales of
the game, and probably to confuse a few poor sods into thinking it's
a different game.....

Remember Formula Karts : Special Edition ? Well this was a con title
really as we never had a Formula Karts. The reason it got the SE
status was due to the updates made from the PC CD-ROM version, did
this help sales ??

You don't need the limited edition. You just play the CD in a normal CD
player but don't play track 1 (data track). You will then have all the music
and radio broadcasts off GTA

Well pointed out.... Just stuck the PC version in my CD player and
and you have 10 tracks of music etc.... Seems that BMG have come
up with a cunning little ploy to see sales of the game increase !?

Ah, well.... At least some of us know now, that the difference is much
of a bargain after all....

Can anybody confirm that the same is true for the Playstation version ?

Yeah, I know!! I'd of thought with the music cd that you wouldn't get all
those annoying chart countdowns and "FM STEREO!" jingles.
BTW the best track is the one with the track "All you have to do to get
through is level your head...." Cool song!!

AFAIK CD music is CD music. Ever tried putting Wipeout 2097 in your
CD player? (In fact, some tunes play longer than they do in the game
-- you actually miss bits out from hearing it played in the game.)

The rule of thumb is track 1 = data, rest of tracks = music if there
is any.

Ta-ra,
Julie.

And if the game in question happens to be Tomb Raider 2, you'll find that
most of the dialogue used in the cut-scenes is on there as audio tracks as
well...

Except for the fact that music is not always stored as cd music. e.g.
Fifa '98 doesn't play music on a nmormal cd player. woo hoo
