The current issue of PlayStation Pro has a big MediEvil 2 preview in it
(with Dan on the front cover). There is a picture of the entire team in the
article, including Iain and me. Can you find our ugly mugs?

I 'll have a look tomorrow lunch time, I went back to EB & got a refund on
Castlevania, they also had crazy taxi running. Very good & impressive.

They had ISS Evo running horrible ball sample..

I've even got a spare MediEvil 2 t-shirt (oo-oh) I can give to the person
who we arbitrarily decide is the winner. (Probably the person who's answer
offends us least :).

If we _really_ like the answer, Iain will wear the t-shirt for a couple of

Is there any work being done at all in SCEE today? :-)

So go on then, so long as telling me won't result in you having to kill
me afterwards, what do you guys do up there in Sonys palace of
glitering delights?

And does medievil 2 have a release date yet, hopefully its not for a
little while cos I'd like to play through the first one first.

And finally, the picture compitition, emmm Iain is second from the
left, and Paul you're third fron the right, can I have my t-shirt now
please? :-)

We are both programmers. I started here back in '95 when we were still
called Millennium. I worked on a couple of PC games, before being one on
the first programmers on MediEvil 1, working with Chris Sorrell (who did all
the James Pond games and loads of other stuff on the Amiga). I worked on
Med 1 until it was finished, and then moved onto the sequel to help develop
the core system code. I finished in November last year when I moved on to
Chris' new project.

April 21st I think, but don't hold me to that.

Errm Paul... I don't think Mark's actually seen the picture. He's still got
the closest guess so far though.

You sir, are correct! I'd still like a t-shirt though, large and
washed, if its not too much trouble, I was closest after all :-)

Cool, so after finally getting around to reading Edge, any
amusing/emabarressing, "crunch-time" stories then?

New project? Sounds intriging! But I know, if you told me, you would
have to kill me! So heres one you should be able to answer, have you
had a chance to pull the PS2 apart yet? And if so whats you opinion as
a programmer, is it as complicated to program for as some people seem
to be saying, or is it just a case that its so new, there hasnt really
been time to get used to the new system. (And dont tell me you guys
havent seen the dev kit yet!).

And another one, how do people in Sony in general (dont want to get too
personal) feel/react to people saying that the PS is for casual gamers,
and is basically a kids toy. I reckon there cant be anything to worse
for you guys to hear, especially after putting months of your life into
making a game for it.

The most amusing story from crunch time I have, involves a programmer
stripping naked and going for a swim in an ornamental pond on the business
park where I was working at the time.

I haven't seen the dev kit yet. Honestly. My time is completely filled with
MediEvil 2 for the time being.

To me, mass appeal is something to be sought after, not derided. There's no
reason why a game can't be both a good game and accesible to non-gamers.

One size fits all, and it's still sealed in it's plastic wrapping. But I
think you at least glance at the magazine in Smiths if you want the t-shirt.

Well you should be grateful I didn't send it then, or it would have gone to
the wrong address. :).

Send me your new address and hopefully I'll have time to sort it out next
week (we submit on Monday, so I might get some free time).

If I said something cheesy like "You and Paul are obviously the two handsome
ones on the picture", do I stand a chance of winning a keyring or something
for brown-nosing? :)

I need a new keyring. I couldn't resist the urge to cut up my "BBC Digital
Radio" cloud keyring using my new Stanley knife.

Don't forget that that t-shirt is actually mine! The gratitude of some
people, give them a t-shirt cos you take pity on their washing situation,
and they give it away in a competition! :)
