I don't know if everyone is aware of this, but Medievil is out now in
the UK - priced £39.99.
It appears to come with a free demo disc as well.

What demo does it come with? MGS with ISS '98 was a good bundle, let's hope
the demo with Medievil is good too!

What about Thrill Kill? I read that that was scheduled for a release today,
but since all the US trouble, I haven't heard about the UK release. Any
clues?

Cheers,

Only got time for a brief review so here goes -

I got the game on Friday and have to say that I think its excellent. OPSM
gave it a mediocre 7 but I think it's worthy of more. The level design is
varied and very nicely implemented, graphics are superb - great lighting
effects and very atmospheric, the sound is really top class with some
excellent music which really fits in with the game. The thing which I
really like is the non-linear gameplay. Each level has bits in it which
can't be completed until you have done other tasks on other levels.
Another great feature is the added incentive of getting to the hall of
heroes at the end of each level where you can get a new weapon. If I have
a criticism of the game it's that jumping onto things can be slightly
difficult to judge as is so often a problem with 3d games. However this
isn't sufficiently annoying to detract from the rest of the game. The
humour is also slightly cheesy at times (as pointed out in OPSM). If you
can live with these minor niggles then I really recommend Medievil. It's
certainly the most enjoyable psx game I've played in a while.

I agree with everything Gary says in his review. My only concern is that the
game won't take long to complete. I have only had it 3 days and I seem to be
well on the way to finishing it already.

Ah, but by all accounts it has very good replay value because of all the
hidden levels and stuff that you probably didn't see on your route
through the game. I heard mention of about 60 levels at one point, but
that you only need to traverse about 20.

I could be wrong though.
