Hi can anybody help me. im getting myself a new ps2 and i want to weigh up
my options for getting it chipped. Is there a chip available that will load
my games without using a boot disc and is it 100% succesful. Also would it
do any region DVD's. If i can get this how much do they cost, where can i
get one fitted etc. Id appreciate any help or advice you guys could give me
as im lost.

cheers Ben

The only chip that will do this is the Neo4 AFAIK.

The dvd player will be region free and have macrovision removed. Games will
auto boot (except EA games, but they will autoboot after patching (very easy
to do))
DVDR's will need to have a disc swap method applied with an original game to
boot.

There is another chip available called the Messiah, this autoboots the EA
games without patching and also boots DVDR's, however the DVD is still
region locked. You can get around this using DVD Region X but this means
using a disc swap.

If you want any more information and prices visit www.westysplace.com.

Westy is a top geezer and also a bloody good soldered!

A highly recommended, quick and professional chipping service.

(And no its not my site, but I have bought a prechipped PS2 in the past from
him)

Messiah is probably your best bet and not to bother with the other region
dvd. A lot of copied DVD and not region coded anyway so will work.
Have your chip fitted, goto
