Merry Wet Christmas (MWC 20/12)

long-term challenges and I only have 11 days left. Not happening,
unless by some strange chance Christmas gets cancelled, work collapses
and all of my friends and family implode.
LAST WEEK
Long Term (to be finished by 31/12/06):
1) Do COD2 Russian campaign on Veteran
2) Win the English League in PES6
3) Go my second season on FIFA 07 unbeaten
4) Get 800 Gamerscore on Viva Pinata
Nope. Played a couple of games of FIFA but still have about 24 games to
go in the season, not touched the rest.
Short Term (to be finished by MWC 20/12/06):
5) Win a game of FIFA 07 online
FAILURE. Feck.
6) Win a game of PES6 online
FAILURE. Bah.
7) Get to the end of Chapter 3 on Phoenix Wright 2
SUCCESS! Woohoo! Sped up a lot towards the end (thank God), still got
two even longer chapters to go though.
8) Finish the first level of F.E.A.R.
FAILURE. Still unopened.
9) If I can tolerate the fucking-awfulness, finish the Sonic story
FAILURE. Still untouched since the 'incident'. ie opening it.
10) Do Act 4 on Gears Of War on Hardcore
FAILURE. My co-op buddy's been busy.
11) Win a Major on Tiger Woods 07
FAILURE. Played some multi, that was it.
12) Do the first dungeon on Zelda: Twilight Princess
FAILURE. Not played it.
13) Finish World 3 on Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
FAILURE. Not played it.
14) Get 10 stars on Super Mario 64 VC
FAILURE. Not played it.
15) Get an achievement in Rainbow Six: Vegas
FAILURE. Not played it.
16) Get Wii Fitness age below 30.
SUCCESS! Got to 25, and now I'm 38. Bah.
A shocking week. Partly cos I spent all my gaming time playing Phoenix
Wright. It's really ace and possibly my favourite new game series of
the last 18 months, but it's annoyingly long-winded and sometimes you
just really want it to get a fucking move on.
So, my Christmas period challenges are therefore:
Long Term (to be finished by 31/12/06):

INCOMPLETE. I'm making some progress, though. Got past the third dungeon
I was stuck on by simply going away for overnight and then coming back
and finding the solution in less than five minutes.
2) Get some more achievement points on the 360. Any game, any amount.
SUCCESS. Got 10 points for killing a giant robot spider in Assault
Heroes. Go me.
3) Win another game of Naked War.
INCOMPLETE. Not many on the go right now and turns aren't coming back,
anyway.
4) Complete Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.
INCOMPLETE. The bosses are hard.
5) Get Big Top's picture in Animal Crossing.
INCOMPLETE. He's not having any of it.
THIS WEEK
Not sure how much gaming I'll get done, so I'll give myself a break and
just say -
1) Survive Christmas.

Also, last week's challenges became a bit meaningless after I bought a Wii.
Anyway...

Finished act 1 of GOW, but nothing else happened, due to the Wii.
> Short Term (to be finished by MWC 20/12/06):
1. Complete Act 1 of Gears of War.
SUCCESS: I like it a little better than before, as well.
2. Complete another level of RS:Vegas.
FAILURE: Wii
3. Get another online achievement in RS:Vegas.
SUCCESS: One of the few games that still got played, but online only.
4. Get the master romancer award for Horstachios in Viva Pinata.
FAILURE: Wii
5. Eagle all the par 5s on at least half of the courses in TW06.
FAILURE: Wii
Not quite a clean sweep of failures, but not great.
Next week:

try to get a 25% win rate by then. (As at 29 Nov I have 38 played, 16%
win rate. I am fully aware of my rubbishness)
At 19 Dec 06 I'm on 52 played, 11 won.
5. Finish Tomb Raider Legend.
Not likely...
6. Get to level 25 on Viva Pinata.
On level 14 now...possible.
7. Get a helmet to cover my Bobby Charlton combover for my facemapped
head for RS: Vegas.
Racking up those online kills.

I'm kinda cheating here as I'm using my challenges from a fortnight
ago, but heyho:
8. Join an online game of RS Vegas and get at least one kill.
Did do last Friday, and a good sesh it was too, like the good old RS
days. Hope to do many more over the holidays.
9. Get to level 12 on Viva Pinata.
Job done now on 14 :-)
10. Get to 12 ranked wins in PES6.
Tried to do this last night, but stuck on 11. I was robbed. Booo.
11. Finish Act 2 of Gears of War on hardcore.
Not quite - finding GoW quite challenging on my own. Need to find me a
coop partner.
12. Play a tournament of Texas Hold 'Em on Live and come in top 3.
Success. Came 2nd last night, still be better once camera support is
added.

SUCCESS :: Eventually worked out waving the nunchuck was no good. A
short sharp slam was required.
