...and lists.

Here's ten lists of game-related words and terms. All I want is another word
in that list (usually there's just one) and what links them; so if you had
the clue of "Passing Breeze, Splash Wave", the answer would be "Magical
Sound Shower", 'cause they're the music tracks in Out Run (I'd probably
accept Last Wave, too, although that's not available on the radio).

Sometimes - but not always - the order is relevant.

1. Door to Phantomile, Lunatea's Veil, Empire of Dreams

2. Tyris, Gilius

3. Merlin, Thyra, Thor

4. The False Prophet, Warriors of Destiny

5. Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, Redguard

6. Grass Land, Desert Hill, Ocean Side, Big Island, The Sky, Iced Land

7. Simon, Simon, Trevor

8. Ideal, Affection, Possibility, Consciousness, Confusion, Revival

9. Vacuum cleaner, Skateboard, Hands

10. Cake, Hammer, Earth, Apple

Klonoa?

My only guess for this quiz :-(
I suspect the rest are PC or RPG stuff, which rules me out. Thanks anyway
though, I liek quizzes even if I can't do them!

Simpsons arcade. I'm guessing the other one is Lisa's weapon, does she use
a saxophone? (or perhaps it was a school book?......I really can't remember!

Looks like every question was answered right at least once, which was nice.

> 1. Door to Phantomile, Lunatea's Veil, Empire of Dreams

I confess, this was one the order didn't matter - I've no idea of the order
of the series, beyond "The PS2 one came after the Playstation one"; I just
wanted another Klonoa game. As it happens, the one I had in mind was
Moonlight Museum, which no-one answered, but since most of you came up with
some other valid Klonoa games, I'll score for those too.

Incidentally, I've just been sitting here thinking "I really ought to buy
Empire Of Dreams". So I did a quick check, and it's Ł12 at CDWow. Bargain.

> 2. Tyris, Gilius

Ax.

The fighters in Golden Axe were Tyris Flare, Gilius Thunderhead and Ax
Battler.

> 3. Merlin, Thyra, Thor

Questor.

The characters in Gauntlet were the Wizard, the Valkyrie, the Warrior and
the Elf; their names were, respectively, Merlin, Thyra, Thor and Questor.

> 4. The False Prophet, Warriors of Destiny

Quest of the Avatar. Ultima IV; False Prophet was Ultima VI, and Warriors of
Destiny was Ultima V.

> 5. Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, Redguard

Morrowind. Arena and Daggerfall are the two previous Elder Scrolls RPGs;
Battlespire and Redguard, rather more obscure, are two spin-off titles -
these are much more action-oriented.

> 6. Grass Land, Desert Hill, Ocean Side, Big Island, The Sky, Iced Land

Pipe Maze. They're the (much more interesting) Japanese names for the worlds
of Super Mario Bros 3; the US names were Grass Land, Desert Land, Water
Land, Giant Land, Sky Land, Sky Land, Ice Land. I think Mario All-Stars used
the Japanese names; I don't know what Mario Advance 4 uses.

> 7. Simon, Simon, Trevor

Simon. The protagonists of the numbered Castlevanias.

> 8. Ideal, Affection, Possibility, Consciousness, Confusion, Revival

Growth. The subtitles of each dream (level) in NiGHTS.

> 9. Vacuum cleaner, Skateboard, Hands

A lot of people got the right idea for this - they're the weapons used by
each character in the Simpsons arcade game. Marge uses a vacuum, Bart whacks
people with a skateboard, Homer just punches them - but not many people got
that Lisa uses a *skipping rope*.

> 10. Cake, Hammer, Earth, Apple

Tap. One of the several cheat modes in Robocod was activated by finding this
group of items near the start of the game and picking them up in this
order - so the initial letters of each item spelled 'CHEAT'.

This cheat also unlocked all the levels in the game. Amusingly, I've got a
PC Format coverdisk from ages ago which had a demo of Robocod for the PC on
it - but they'd left the CHEAT cheat in. And the later levels *were*
actually on the disc. Rather nice to get a full game for the cost of a
magazine, when you're in your early teens...
