I had no problem speaking to claptrap and entering New Haven, all I
did was the 1st power to the people quest there......I havent switched
on my PS3 tonight out of fear due to this hiccup..I expect it would be
ok but I did some Bioshock 2 on my 360 instead. The Dahl Badlands
quests are easily dony solo arent they?

Seeya tomorrow night I expect....Bioshock umm, I forgot how
frustrating the 1st game was, the 2nd is better but still hell, those
splicers been to boot camp LOL:)

Ah but you probably didn't stupidly fast travel in between the 'Kill Mad
Mel' and 'Speak To Claptrap' objectives.

It seems, from further research, that is a known glitch. Good job I
found my workaround :)

I didn't have any troubles with the quests in Dahl. Apart from the
scavenger quest. I spent nearly an hour finding the last bit of that
crappy gun.

As I said though, the quests are easier solo - the game ramps things up
for co-op play.

I'm pretty sure someone else here had the same problem on the 360 version,
but that it's now been patched. Not the case on the PS3?

I have no idea. I remember people talking about a claptrap at the start
that wouldn't open the entrance gate. This is quite some hours into the
game though. I can't remember if borderlands patched with I started
playing it. Even if it did, I don't know what's in the patch.

I'm still really proud of my workaround though :-)

Aye. In the car. For the entire search, I didn't even know there _was_ a
car. Too dark. Even in the daytime, I just couldn't see it.

Yeah, I got this too, (in playthrough 2) but I didn't mind because
killing Mel again dinged me 41!

That car part took me a look at gamefaqs to find....

I do wish the game had a slightly different marker for "look here" and
"look somewhere around here, roughly"! My first scavenge took me an
extra half hour because I was hunting for a way to go up or down a
level at the marker.

Spent Saturday night playing around level 15 splitscreen on my
brother-in-law's Xbox, and it was great fun. Could have been better
though - (a) I didn't have my character with me and there isn't a
"create a character the right level to play together" button, and (c)
that once you've got your level 1 character all the way up to level 13
playing co-op, they're just lost when you exit. Should be saved into
the logged-in player's account.

Does the PS3 version handle the latter any better, or has no one
played split-screen except me?

How did you get to kill Mel again though? He never appeared for me, so
the arena exit didn't unlock.

Did you co-op it to get the quest again?

Sounds the same then - shame, it would have made quick co-op play much
easier if there was an instant right-level character button. Though
that wouldn't be any help with a 7 + 23 pair!
