There was a proper MMORPG for the DS.
NOT a cutesy game like Animal Crossing, but a serious RPG.
A good idea would be like Final Fantasy DS online!

If I remember correctly, isn't there currently a MapleStory DS in
production?

Something like a multi-player Baldur's Gate or Diablo would be
excellent. Do you remember the Two Towers and Return of the King on GBA
- excellent little action rpgs with a nifty co-op mode.

I thought you were going to say "...if there were any worthwhile games
about to be released", it's been a bit sparse of late.

Yeah, nothing except Tony Hawk, Elite Beat Agents, Phoenix Wright 2,
Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, Kirby Squeak Squad, Gunpey, FF III, Yoshi's
Island, Bomberman Land Touch!, Pokemon Ranger, Children of Mana, Touch
Detective, Magical Starsign and Contact. I see what you mean.

My computer runs at 3.5MHz and I'm proud of that

This is rather good, by the way. Anybody else playing it?

I was put off by the EGM review, and the fact that the Wii was imminent.

Is it the same review that's on 1up? It rather sounds like the reviewer
just doesn't like/isn't very good at adventure games. Except for one hunt-
the-pixel type problem in the first case, I've found the puzzles to be
pretty solid. It's a bit easy, and probably won't last long, but it's a
fun, well-written (and genuinely funny) game.

Did you miss the "worthwhile" bit? Bar EBA (obviously!) and perhaps
Castlevania, I don't see anything essential in that list at all.

I *have* it, but given I've bought at least one DS game every week for
the last two or three months I've not even had time to look at it yet

I'd still have PW2, Gunpey, FF III and Yoshi in the "essential" pile.

PW2, maybe, it's one of those things I'd want to try first to see if I'd
enjoy. The rest, meh.

It's a side-scrolling RPG. Not my idea of an RPG, MMO or not.

So? They bloody should. If everyone did (and I always urge everyone to do
so), then NoE might actually notice and do something about it.
