from what I've been reading, *apparently* the Wii version of Zelda:
Twilight Princess will run at 60 frames per second and with a
widescreen mode. the Gamecube version, even though the graphics are
apparently identical, will run at the 30 frames per second that we have
been seeing from the game ever since it was revealed at E3 2004.
during E3 2006 or just slightly before, I noticed that in a video of
the Wii version, the framerate seemed to be *significantly* smoother
than previous videos of the Gamecube version.
if true, it would be awesome.
60fps is a huge difference from 30fps to me, and many other games.
For me, it's like the difference between having 60 bucks in your pocket
and having only 30 bucks in your pocket. (or quid if you're in the UK,
hehe)
it would make me very pleased if true.
I remember the only major flaw (IMO) of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time on
the Nintendo 64 (and even the Gamecube port) was its low framerate;
only ~20 FPS. while very much playable, it was definitally not even
fairly smooth, like Mario 64 was.
so I am drooling at the *possibility* that the Wii version of Zelda
OoT's successor, Zelda: TP, *might* run at at triple the framerate,
and double the framerate of Zelda TP on Gamecube.
yet, I also realize that there's a DAMN good chance this isn't
happening. It would almost be too good to be true.

so why fucking post it?

can someone confirm that you laughed out loud, or is that also unconfirmed?

The framerate of your eyes is below 25 frames right? So whats the
Difference?
Chris
that's clearly nonsense, since, at least most good game developers try
to aim for 30fps in their games, if not 60fps.
of course there's a perceivable difference between 30fps and 60fps to
most gamers, even if the average joe / casual gamer doesn't notice it.
no idea where you got "the framerate of your eyes is below 25 frames",
Clearly never seen the terrible judder on pans in the cinema then.
Try setting your monitor refresh rate to 30Hz and see if you notice the
difference!
Is this some sort of irrelevant comparison competition?

So why do you insist on posting this drivel then? I mean, for heaven's
sake man - how much time each day do you spend digging up this stuff
which NO ONE WILL READ? Why don't you spend it on yourself instead?

Ah feck, I might have known you'd get there first :)
Please take this as completely unconfirmed for now, but rumour has it
that the Wii will bring about unity and harmony among all mankind, allow
the lion to lay down with the lamb, and turn Barry Manilow into a
household name once again.
Well if that ain't the biggest bollocks that's ever been spoken I don't know
what is.....

Annoyingly, I can't really argue with that :)
very, very little time.
the time i spend "digging stuff up" pales in comparison to the
collective amount of time people spend reading it, and/or coming up
with a reply.
glad you found the post interesting enough to reply yourself.
well it took you 4 days to get round to replying, so thats a lot of
trawling sites for non-news to copy and paste before getting round to
reading threads you already started.
