I've just bought my brand spanking new Dreamcast from GAME (great shop),
along with five titles... however, out of the five, I've had problems with
three of them either not starting at all, even though autostart is set to
ON, or the system resetting itself in between level loads (e.g. in NBA
Showdown and NFL Blitz).

Has anyone else had this kind of problem? I've exchanged these titles, but
have the same problem... is it a faulty Dreamcast, or what? The disks are
fine... no real scratches, etc. and some games (Powerstone, Trickstyle) are
OK....

I've heard something a while ago about problems with early titles... is this
related?

Hey! Same here!
See my post 'Soul Calibur problems'.
I also bought my Dreamcast the other day in GAME!!
Exchanged the game and it is still the same! Doesn't happen every time
though.

Neil.

Take your DC back as it seems to be broken. The only game I have ever
had problems with is Powerstone, which Eidos still maintain is down to
the DC, despite it doing exactly the same thing on 2 different
consoles (Crashing shortly after the music dies).

!!!! At the moment, the only game I DON'T have problems with is
Powerstone!!! I'll be on my THIRD copy of NFL Blitz by next week, as my
second copy is having the same problems....

The person I've been speaking to in GAME said that they've come across quite
a few defective Dreamcasts already....

Did anyone hear something about only four plants in the world pressing
Dreamcast CDs (all first and third party s/w), with one of them experiencing
problems? Perhaps this is related.///

It's just the machine nothing to do with the games, third copy of NFL
Blitz, come on, GAME are taking you for a ride. I haven't had any
problems with mine from Simply. And there are only 19/20 CD-R plants
in the world so 4 GD-ROM plants may well be right.

The GD-ROM defect thing effected 1% (according to Sega) of the US
launch software nothing to do with PAL. If you think the DC is bad you
should see my PSX.
