I'm finding it much more difficult than Virtua Cop - no bad thing
considering they were over way too quickly. The enemies certainly come thick
and fast, and some of the long shots or obscured enemies are difficult to
hit with the gun. Even so, putting the lives counter up a bit allows you to
complete it pretty quickly. The hardest bit is doing all the training
sections - you need 95% accuracy on most of them, so a couple of mistakes
and you're out (and this is under a strict time limit as well). Anyway -
still a pretty nice game, and there's an 'Another World' option on the main
menu that I haven't unlocked yet - so maybe that contains one extra mission
at the end?

That person has a promo copy.

Regular version for us masses on 25/5 apparently (see thread regarding
best pre-order price.)

Mine arrived this morning but I haven't played it yet. Will there be much
point with the standard controller and no mouse or lightgun?

I could go out and buy either, but given that the console will be defunct
within a year I wonder if there's any point.

It's worth it if you like lightgun games, especially as its £16 from

I do like them but such games tend to be very short-lived in their
longevity.

Nice, to the point, review. Although I have to say that the length in
itself doesn't phase me, Die Hard Trilogy for the PSX wasn't long in the gun
section, however with the lightgun I found that I enjoyed playing it over and
over. Nice that you gave the ups and downs, rather than just giving an
overall opinion. *8-)

True, about the gun-section of DHT, but at least it had two other excellent
games in there to back it up. If only CM had the same it could be game of the
year.

I know what you mean, but point I was trying to make was -- I tend to play
short light gun games over and over; i.e. complete DHT lightgun section each
time I play it, but enjoy doing so, if that makes any sense? Hence for me,
length of lightgun game isn't *toooo* important.

....I'm weird...

I'll get me coat........

Actually, while we're talking of DHT on PS, does the standard (by Namco..?)
GunCon work with this game?

Thanks.

No, it's older gun-standard only.

On the PSX there were two standards, the original, and then the Namco GCon45
one (which was *much* more accurate, and which I wished the DC had.)

However, IME most decent 3rd party PSX guns are dual standard anyway (but
check to make sure.)

Thanks Julie. Was about to get that GCon to play DHT, but I'll look out for
one of those 3rd party ones now. :-)

A good third part one is one of the ones offered by 3com. It comes complete
with a loading pedal, adjustable rate auto fire and auto reload. It also
works on both modes (G-con and standard) and I prefer it over the original
namco g-con45. Special reserve sell them for around £18. Its black in
colour.

Hope this helps

Thanks Matt. Just had a look on the site.. is it the Black P99K Light
Blaster Gun (Logic3)? How accurate is it do you think?

Cheers.

Thats the one, its v.accurate. Its barrel even moves backwards and forwards
if your into that sort of thing!
I got no complaints with it, i've got two of them and 1 namco gcon45 and I
prefer the 3com ones, added bonus of not being to bulky either
