How do,

Finally got Daytona USA 2001 working online.

Turned out the last two things I hadn't tried since getting a new key-file
and resetting the browser/net config, which I've just now done, were-

1) Inputing the DNS servers by hand
2) Giving it the same number as first as the 'backup number' (although
it was dialing etc. okay, I thought I'd do this anyway since someone
had mentioned it.)

So my config-

PAL DC
US Daytona USA 2001
Blaze DC-X Bootdisk
Running game via Bootdisk at 60Hz
56K modem
BT HomeHighway (using one of the analogue/POTS lines)

Internet/browser config (set via US Browser v2.606)-

Demon Internet, PCP/Surftime number (08440416662)

First dialog-

User: hostname
Password: password
Number Area code: [just left blank]
Number: 08440416662
Backup Number/Area code: [as above]

Second dialog-

[ones before this -- blank]
Init string: AT&F0
Blind dial: No (you may need this to be yes)

Third dialog-

Proxy: Yes
Address: www-cache.demon.co.uk
Port: 8080

Basically, no problems at all, clean connect. However, I was thrown for a
bit, as the usual SegaNet server appears to be ill (for everyone, it just
waits at the "Please wait starting race...." bit), however the circuitblue
one is fine.

So.... anyone for a game? *8-)

Ta-ra,
Julie

Hey,
Yeh - I'll meet up for a game, just got back into it since playing the
original arcade game. Still a superb arcade game.

Which server should we use?

circuit blue?

Best times to meet up?

Is there a particular UGVD Daytona day/time/server?

I don't think anyone ever made a decision on this one. There
was going to be a section on Steve's UGVD members site but
nothing is there as yet (apart from a message board). How
about making circuit blue the standard server and either
create our own UGVD lobby or use one of the lobbys that
aren't used further down the list? I can go on tonight
from 6:30 for about 3/4 of an hour if you want to have a go.
Normally I can be on for longer but I've got a busy night
tonight (Treble!).

Cheers,

Len.
