OK, before I send this back to Gameplay I want to check it's not just my
copy.

The game intermitently crashes. Usually the sound will stutter first, the
game then freezes and you have to power off the DC and turn it back on.

This is very annoying to say the least, especially as none of the other DC
games I have crash.

I have tried it on another DC and the same thing happens. The disk is
unmarked so I don't think the GD-ROM is faulty.

Is Powerstone just a buggy piece of software? If so I think I'd rather
change it for something else.

I look forward to your input.

I've had the same problem, usually after half and hour or so of playing.

Mine did the same. I exchanged it for another one, the problem got better
but was still there, so in the end I got fed up and exchanged it for
Shadowman. I`ve only noticed it in 1 player mode though.

Never had a problem with my version.

Much rather have Powerstone than Shadowman!

Me too, but when Eidos won`t admit there is a problem with the game and
therefore won`t fix it, I didn`t have any choice.

Hopefully Powerstone 2 will work OK.

spoke to eidos today and they firmly pointed the finger at sega, saying
there were a batch of dodgy machines from indonesia... they even said when
asked that sega knew about it and admitted liability.

Nathan, what are we suppsoed to do? Send the DC back? I find the "DC faulty"
story a bit strange as I have never had a problem with any other title. I
would like to hear them explain why it is only this title that causes my DC
to crash!

Hmm.

Mine is from Indonesia.

Eidos didn`t say anything about that when I phoned them. I may phone
Sega and get them to replace my DC.

Well the nice person I just talked to at Sega knew nothing about this
and apparently all machines are made in Indonesia. They did know that
there were problems with Powerstone and were very interested to hear
that Eidos were blaming Sega for the problem. They have escalated this
and said they will call me tomorrow with news.

WE WILL SEE.

Hmmmmm.

Mine is from Indonesia to, and I have a problem with HOTD2.
It has very long loading times! But it's only HOTD2, all other games are
working fine.
Strange story, I'm worried now.

spoke to the guys at "game" in watford to day, they knew nothing about a
problem with either powerstone or the dreamcast hardware...

I doubt that it is the dreamcast itself and that eidos just want to pin the
blame on sega, coz their share price got hammered a couple of weeks ago
after bad results (not enough software sold, lara croft 4 being pants etc).
also did a deja search and found a thread on this from a few weeks ago, same
problem with eidos blaming the hardware.

i'm off to hmv this weekend to change both the dreamcast and powerstone for
another copy, assuming i can be arsed.

----snipped------------

That's no surprise about Game - I would have been impressed if they'd known
what day it was.
