Ours arrived yesterday, and it does work with US Dreamcasts
incidentally.

UGVD PSO: Bubbles
UGVD Quake3: UGVD_MikeJ
Mine arrived yesterday. So far it seems a bit of a disappointment . . .

All the best,
Daniel Ness. "Television is the retina of the mind's eye."
!!!
I think it is superb. Although, having said that, I haven't played it much
since i got the all (free time) consuming PSO.
It just doesn't seem to be anything special, unlike Grandia 2, which grabbed
me as soon as I booted it up for the first time.
Hmm, I can *sort of* see what you mean, the game has a very familiar feel if
you have played any FF games. However I think its execution is superb, the
game world and characters are dead good, and the difficulty curve is such
that you are never required to go on "experience hunts" like so many other
rpgs. Plus the cut scenes are just what you need, they expand the story
without being overblown FMV demonstrations. Maybe I was more imprssed cos
the last rpg I played before SoA was FinalFantasy 8, which as we all know is
a horrible game.
I haven't played Grandia 2 as it has had mixed reviews, with most folk
concluding Skies as being superior.. I'd be interested to hear what you
think after you've played this one a bit more.

I really *really* liked Grandia 2, for the first 15 hours or so. But
after that it got really tedious, due to the linearity. It is
*absolutely* gorgeous, but for some reason I prefer the "look" of
Skies of Arcadia. (Saying that, Grandia 2's spell animations have to
be seen to be believed.)
The main reason I'm having more fun with Skies of Arcadia is
definitely the freedom to explore. I *like* wandering around and
looking for all the discoveries, I enjoy building my characters up
during random encounters, and I just love the whole concept of sailing
through the skies on a ship.
Also, I'm pretty sure that SoA will last longer than the 28 hours it
took me to finish Grandia 2.
Grandia 2 was definitely a "wow" game (everyone should at least watch
the intro to see how good the Dreamcast can look), and it was fun to
see the programmers doing what they'd obviously wanted to do in the
first Grandia (the towns, in particular, are very similar in a looking
a lot better kind of way.)
But SoA, 10 hours in, still has me wowing, and it also makes me laugh
a lot more than Grandia 2. In fact, I should really go and play it
some more...

I liked Grandia2 at first - the first three or four hours. But after that
the boredom set in. I don't know if it's me becoming more cynical, but I
couldn't really be bnothered to carry on. I've got Skies of Arcadia, but as
I've got a toddler for company, I haven't had time to try it yet...
