Also... It's summer! It is traditionally a fallow period. Oh well, a bit
late now I suppose.

Crappity crap crap. Boo hiss Dennis, etc etc. I'd just like to say that
ODM is one of the best games mags I've bought, ranking on the same level as
Edge, just slightly below Amstrad Action and Mega. It was always funny and
informative, and exceptionally well written.

And I went to school with Stuart Dredge, who was one of the writers when it
first started.

A shame, I thought DC owners were more intelligent than to think that ending
production was the same as the console dying.

It'd have been better to have no cover disc and a £3 pricepoint ... as was
pointed out, it's the summer. Mega used to have a 10,000 drop in readership
over the summer!

Good. I REDA IT EVRY DAY!!!!1111

I'm firing off an email now to Dennis, saying thanks for the magazine, and
asking if they'd reconsider, just for a final issue. I hate it when
magazines stop like *that*. When they know they're coming to an end, they
can produce a final issue. A retrospective look at things, a feature on the
whole life of the machine and magazine. A pointer at where to look instead,
and what to look out for in the future.

Plus all the stuff that was being written anyway. And I'm sure people here
could write articles. Oooh, you could have a "what was your highpoint and
lowpoint of owning a DC?".

I urge everyone to do the same. Go on, you know you want to. Go on, go on,
go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on.
GO ON!

Good old J E F F. I hope he's happy now that GT2.4 ... er, GT3 ... is out,
and none of the PS2 magazines picked up on the minor bugs in that.

Cheers Warren. For mentioning ugvd in the magazine, and for producing
something I've enjoyed reading. Suppose I'd better get the bask issues I'm
missing!

LOL no, it wasn`t long for this world, and came out when 48k / 64k was still
considered the bottom end of "big" and left the shelves almost as quicky (I
think it came out just as the Amiga / ST came on the scene)

It was quite a good magazine - I was sad to see it go

I vaguely remember YS and Crash, although I was always more of a YS

that was a MAN's way to cheat, Gamesharks are for weenies :)

All you poor speccy people who, not only having to suffer rubber keys,
never had the delights of Zzap which really was the best computer magazine
ever! It had a unique humour of its own which no-one since has truly
rivaled.

Big K was fantastic. I've probably still got a couple of issues somewhere
as well as "ACE" (all-computers entertainment?)

Sorry to hear about the closure of ODM, Warren. What's your next venture in
the world of magazines? Any chance you can ask Dennis to bring back the
excellent Escape?

Why is it all the best things come to an end long before their lives
deserve to? Arcade died off when it shouldn't have and another casualty is
[.tv] (Sky ch.567) which is due to close on Sept 2nd. I understand it's due to
a lack of funding.

I never noticed you on it, although admittedly I only ever watched
Game Over and that annoying tech support program until it became too
annoying.

However, anything that means less Will Hanrahan can only be a good
thing.

Fuck you! Isn't there enough of these stupidly pointless magazines?

Once, I was browsing the magazines section of a newsagents - 0 DC mags,
but PS & PS2 - about 9 or 10 of them!

Next for us - what ps2 mags are there altogether? I'll start the list -

Official Playstation2 Magazine,
P2,
The countless number of Playstation magazines that cover PS2 as well,

...Damn it! Can't think of many more :( Someone else think for me.
