His name is Rob Pegg and he's a friend of mine. His deck is very annoying
with lots of discard and counters.

I forgot to say congrats to everyone else for doing well...
Nice one guys!

Commiserations to all the decent players outside the Top 8 who perhaps got
screwed by the 6 rounds of swiss - you know who u are. Sucks :(

Nananana, I won!
And Roy didn't qualify for worlds!
Again!
Yah!

Thanks to wizards for letting me play. a monstrous debacle involving working
from 8:00 until 11:00, random buses, trains, taxis, and a whole bunch of men
in two different types of red shirts ensured I arrived shortly after 14:00,
and almost got dropped.
Also thanks to Ioan Llwyd for going 0-2 drop and giving me his deck I used
to win with.
Thirdly to Steve Brown. He did not actually offer me a place to stay, but I
convinced him I should he able to kip at his gaff since Ioan was previously
going to, and he had gone home (in a £50 taxi ride I later found out).
Fourthly, and most importantly, I would like to thank the monkey on my back.

FINALLY, the title is around the waist of a Welshman good and true (or will
be when I construct a title belt. I believe fridge magnets will be involved
in this).

I need.....

Details of flights and accom for Euros and worlds.
A way to make this game understandable to my boss, so she will let me have
time off to go to these.
Some decks to play for both these tournaments.
Dual lands for worlds.

Want, want, want.

Philip J Brett, greatest ever Welsh National Champion.

50,000 BPM, IN YOUR F'N FACE!

i would like to say well done to everyone that made the euro's team for this year. unlucky roy, u deserve top three mate. next year...

special well done to my mate James 'Jim-En-Kor' Matthews who studies in Aber & hails from Bournemouth. although not a fISH, top bloke & good player.

the rebel/worship deck i gave james went 5-0 in london in an unsanctioned tourney (i beat dave ball & chris clapton on that day) run by the games club. james loves white spells so it all seemed like a good idea.

if anyone can find some shit-cheap flights, mail me some stuff as i am gonna be in milan, even if i suucuumb to bad luck at the english nats!

well done jimmy c. u weird little man! c u in birmingham no doubt.

If you're going to be forgotten, I suppose it's best to be forgotten as
'really friendly guy' than anything else :-))

Just like to add my thanks to all the WOTC staff that put in a lot of effort
over the weekend to make it such a success.

However, whilst the staff performed wonders I couldn't help wondering a
little about the warped sense of humour whoever planned the event must have
had. Same time same place as the FA Cup Final ?? That didn't cause anybody
any headaches, did it ?

Whilst there must have been good reasons (I hope) it presumably wouldn't
have taken an impossible amount of planning to arrange either an alternative
timing or location.

A very minor gripe however; it was a good event and met some really nice
people playing some very polished decks. And some really horrible ones -
Marcus ! I never want to see Dark Suspicions ever again....

Congrats to all !

Rob Pegg.

Well done Phil - congratulations - well played all weekend &
well deserved, from what I saw - at least now I can claim I was knocked
out of the running by the champ !

convinced, my ar*e !, you asked, I said, sure.

Yeah, even though I'm English, it is kind of fitting that we finally have a
Welsh welsh champion - and one who actually lives in Wales and attends
welsh tournaments too.

Once again,

nice one Phil !
