Nationals information

If you have phoned me up in the last couple of weeks regarding the
Nationals then you might have noticed that I kept avoiding certain
answers. Sorry about that! The reason for this is that US have come up
with a DCI policy change and because some of our Nationals are somewhat
different we only recently had the details confirmed:
Invites will soon be sent out to people who qualify for one of the
following reasons:
- Your are one of the top 50 ranked DCI players in a certain country
- You are last Years national champion.
- Last Years World Championship Teams have also earned invitations.
Due to changes in DCI policy all Nationals events are now closed events.
Only invited players may participate.
If you have friends or team mates who have not received invitations then
all is not lost. WOTC will be running last minute Qualification Grinders
at the Nationals for any player wishing to take part who has not yet
received an invitation.
All players who hold an invitation for any Nationals who wish to take part
should register themselves from 9.00 AM on Saturday 12th May.
The schedule for this year’s Nationals is as follows:
Saturday
9:00 Registration for Nationals Players Opens
9:30 Meat Grinders Start
Afternoon: Day 1 Nationals Competition – Rochester Draft (Invasion/
Invasion/ Planeshift)
Sunday
9:00 Day 2 Nationals Competition – Standard Constructed
Afternoon: Nationals Top 8
Other events that will be happening at this year’s Nationals include
- A Free Rochester/ Booster Draft for all players holding an invitation to
be played whilst the Qualification Grinders are taking place
- A Free Sealed Deck Tournament for all players who are not taking part in
day 2 of the Nationals competition
- One of the last few chances to take advantage of a free booster draft
each day for Legends members
- Side Events throughout the two days
