Day 1 is going to be a long day!

How much draft experience are people going to have with Coldsnap?

You could say that Wizards are mixing things up or is F**king things up?

Presumably all contestants will have had a similar chance to practice
drafting coldsnap or at least to read about the format. It is probably
a better test of skill to draft a very new set than it is to draft a
known set.

I think it is a good idea.

Dear WOTC UK,

Please tell us more about this "room block rate", like how much the
rooms will be.

I have tried ringing the number you provided but when I 'mentioned'
Wizards of the Coast they said they had no knowledge of such a reduced
rate.

They gave me another number to ring: 0870 400 9007 which apparently
gets through to the hotel direct. I tried this number but when it was
eventually picked up, the woman told me her booking computer wasn't
working and to call back tomorrow. Judging by this helpful response I
asked her if she was on secondment from WOTC UK. But no, she also had
not heard of Wizards of the Coast either.

I feel that I should point out that the recommended hotel is no where
near the actual venue. It's about 3km by road about 2km if you cut across
the airfield.

For those people driving, this means that you would then have to pay
parking charges at the NEC.

For those without cars your'll do a lot of walking

It would seem better to book in at one of the hotels on the NEC site
that also offer parking.

I have been told that parking will be FREE of charge for everyone attending
the English Nationals.

From the Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport website:

Please note our Complimentary Shuttle is available 7 days a week from
Birmingham
International Airport, Train station & the NEC, between the hours of
5am-10am &
again from 4pm-10pm.
