Quake II: Drilling Area - Access Denied?

I'm having some trouble on the Drilling Area level in Quake II. I've got
past the first entrance where you shoot the 2 power cables, but then I come
to a second barred gate below a fortified balcony, which I can't unlock.
Anyone know how to get past this?

Cancel that. I figured it out - I had to use a 2nd entrance to the level.
