The Mrs and I are looking to spend the next bank holiday weekend in
Guildford. By choice, I might add. But I'm wanting somewhere to stay.
Is anyone familiar with any decent pubs within 4 or so miles from the
centre of Guildford, that also have rooms?
Obviously, prefer a traditional style pub, free house or independant,
and will have to cycle in and out of Guildford, so avoiding the hills
wouldn't be such a bad thing...

Thanks in advance,
Simon

Check on http://www.qualityinns.co.uk - nothing listed in Guildford but Duke
of Cambridge (01252 716584) 10 miles away in Farnham is good. Free House,
good ales and does accommodation.
Also due to be listed
Harrow Inn @ Compton (01483 810379) - 3 miles - 15th Century, Allied Domecq,
good food
Volunteer @ Abinger (01306 730798) - 10 miles - 15th Century, free house,
good food
Jolly farmer @ Bramley (01483 893355) - 3 miles - 17th Century, free house,
good food

Hope this helps

I've not seen the bedrooms, but the Jolly Farmer at Bramley is a
lovely pub, and is a level bike ride into Guildford. It's been a while
since I lived in Guildford, but they used to stock Theakston's Old
Peculier (yummy).

I'd also recommend the Squirrel at Hurtmore (01483 860223).
