Almost certainly something from my existing repertoire.
I wouldn't dream of trying new stuff or techniques. The courses would
each be something I'd done many times before. I'd want it relaxed, I'd
want to be at the table much of the time, I'd want to talk as much as
eat .... just like when anyone else comes to dinner.

This is Scotland, where "a man's a man for a' that".
Any famous people who come to Arran do it because they know they'll be
left alone to relax. Nobody will come up and ask for an autograph or a
photo op, no mention or photo in the local paper. No restaurant or
commercial host here EVER puts celeb-guest pics on the wall. The SSP in
Arran, is absolute discretion, the antithesis of celebrity hype.

When I sold music in Cambridge and at various universities, I always
left celeb customers alone to browse and never paid them any special
attention. I assumed that they preferred it that way - I know I would. I
can only remember one or two who showed signs of wanting to be
recognised but I just ignored them. I don't think I could have found it
in myself to do otherwise - it's just so naff. Were I feeding Adria, I
think I'd want to note the occasion by serving him some quality
traditional local fare - perhaps game, desert using fruit from the
garden, local cheeses - that sort of thing. But no fuss.
