He lied about the population of Hen Harriers some years ago and calls
me "old man" because he says he's younger than me. In an article in
the Mail he is said to be 78 years old - two years older than me - and
has been counting birds for over 50 years

No doubt he'll pick up this post as he follows me about like a little
dog.

Dear little old Angus can't post here without mentioning and trying to disparage me. He
has failed to answer a great many questions I have put to him over the years and
completely failed to provide any evidence whatsoever for his ludicrous claims about how
red squirrel remains reached caves in the Wye Valley far above any possible floods
post-ice age, or sites in Devon or the Isle of Wight. He has invented a number of
different (and conflicting) scenarios in his obsessive struggle to try and prove that the
red squirrel is not a native of Britain. He has, of course, completely failed.

And now he reveals himself as a reader of the Mail on Sunday. A charming reporter,
Lorraine Kelly, came to Islay a couple of weeks ago and interviewed me, among others,
about goose counting here. She managed to get my age wrong by two years (I am, like Angus,
76, but some months younger than he is). When I e-mailed her to congratulate her on her
piece in the newspaper, but commented that she had got my age wrong, she responded with:
"I am so terribly sorry! I can't believe I did that. My only excuse is I was so enthralled
in your memoir that I got my numbers muddled, but I am so sorry for this."

Bad luck, Angus. Failed again. But then that's what you do, isn't it?

Read the research Malcolm, and don't labour your ignorance.

Of course it's not native and only the Irish authorities are honest
enough to admit it when questioned closely.

You raised the subject here, Angus, not me. But then you are obsessed with me, posting

I'm a liar. Perhaps you would like to apologise for that accusation.

You have completely failed in your ludicrous attempts to prove the red squirrel is not a
native species of Britain, when it obviously is. You've spent years trying and failing.
And as you get older, so your claims get more and more risible.

Merely a repeat of a childish insult - typical of Angus.

>Don't labour your ignorance, Malcolm.

I'm not, because, as on so many subjects, I know and understand the facts and you don't.
In your totally vain efforts to demonstrate that the undoubtedly native red squirrel is
not a native of Britain, you have conjured up more and more silly notions for none of
which do you have a scrap of evidence, and for many of which you are impugning the
professional expertise and reputations of professional archaeologists, geologists and
geomorphologists. You have yet to produce a single publication to support your risible
claims about mythical floods post the last ice-age which, according to you brought the
squirrel remains from some unknown place outwith Britain and deposited them in caves in
three different places of southern England. Indeed, you demonstrated that you couldn't
even understand the changes in sealevel which took place over the last 20-30,000 years.
And your claims about Doggerland and the land bridge between England and the Continent
which lasted for thousands of years and thereby ensured the arrival of a great proportion
of our land mammals, including the red squirrel, as well as thousands of other species of
fauna and flora are, as usual with you, based on your over-heated imagination and not at
all on the known facts.

Lying again, Malcolm. All the evidence is there that shows the red
squirrel in not native but you're obviously not up to looking for it.

Even SNH know they're not native to Scotland. A senior executive
admitted that to me. I posted this some time ago on this ng. Have
you forgotten? Sounds like dementia is settling in. Forgetting your
age is a sure sign :-))

Poor little Angus can't post here without mentioning and trying to disparage me. It is an
obvious attempt to try and divert attention from his inability to justify any of his
claims or to provide answers to questions.

And all Angus can do is to repeat his nonsense. There is no "research" to back up his
ludicrous claims about how red squirrel remains reached caves in the Wye Valley far above
any possible floods post-ice age, or sites in Devon or the Isle of Wight. If there were,
I would know about it, but there isn't as Angus has invented it.

the red squirrel in Britain, only your inventions which are not supported by any facts.

A particularly silly claim coming from someone who is unable to produce any facts to
support his claims that the red squirrel is not a native species of Britain. The
archaeological remains prove that it is. The Doggerland bridge between the continent and
England provided the means by which it reached here post-ice age, and all the nonsense
about the fur trade merely demonstrated that Angus doesn't know how to undertake proper
research into a subject.

The above is all true, Angus.

All the evidence is there that shows the red

The phrase "all the evidence is there" is not only a lie but strongly suggests
self-delusion. In all the long threads about red squirrel you have yet to produce one
single piece of *evidence* to support your claim that the red squirrel is not a native.
All you have produced is invention, lies and speculation, all of which is very easily
countered by reference to the actual facts.

>Even SNH know they're not native to Scotland. A senior executive
>admitted that to me. I posted this some time ago on this ng.

Oh look, Angus is once again trying to divert attention by referring to Scotland. The red
squirrel is native to *Britain*, Angus, and nothing you have produced over the years has
changed that status one iota. You have failed, yet again.

Have

I didn't forget my age, Angus. Why have you lied?
