Two ways to do this.

First, and most important, engender a culture
in which males are no longer routinely offered
a binary choice of two crap options which have
to entered into en masse; allow them to feel,
for a change, inadequate and in need of more
information, within an environment in which
that information is genuinely forthcoming.

Second, stress that higher education can be
entered at any time and, frankly, really isn't
for kids, in fact, stress that kids tend to far
worse than they would if they were grown up
when they went into the knowledge mill.

Give them, in other words, chance to overcome
the pack-mentality conditioning they Receive

children ask first.

By this time people often know what they wish
they had done, they just often don't realise they
still can.

And, of course, maybe think about referring to
bread-earners, bread-bakers even, rather than
bread-winners. Or do I mean bred winners?
