White goods from Howdens own brand of Lamona are (presumably) manufactured
by one or more major suppliers and then badged for Howdens.

They may, of course, be a completely different design but I suspect that
they are probably re-badged models from a well known range.

The issue then is how to identify the matching manufacturer and model.

We have a Lamona dishwasher, which is made in Turkey.

It would be good to be able to read reviews but a Google search for the
dishwasher just turns up an old thread from Mumsnet which suggests that
Beko might be the manufacturer.

Any information?

Cheers

It seems some Lamona appliances are re-badged Candy, both Beko and Candy
have Turkish factories, so it might be worth doing an image search for
dishwashers manufactured by either to spot similarities ...

Another tack might be to look for spare parts and then search on that
part number for other makes/models the part might fit?

Google 'Lamona element' came up with
http://www.sussexcookers.com/lamona-fan-oven-element-2000w-92217223
Google '92217223' came up with
Candy Oven Fan Oven Heater Element. Genuine Part Number 92217223

Google 'Lamona pump' came up with
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/221249809210
Google '1740300300' came up with
Beko Drain Pump Group 1740300300 *THIS IS A GENUINE BEKO SPARE*

Google 'Lamona thermostat' came up with
https://www.parts4appliances.co.uk/lamona-fridge-freezer-thermostat-4852150285.html
Google '4852150285' came up with
Beko Lec Fridge Freezer Thermostat. Genuine part number 4852150285

... so I think the answer is 'Beko and Candy'.

I was going to suggest the same maker. They are after all bit suppliers of
badge engineered things these days, and only relatively recently launched
their own brand.
I guess you would need to talk to somebody in the repair trade to see if
they know. Brian

And after that, perhaps posting a question to a news group because of all
the intelligent helpful people there?

Or would I be wasting my time?

Thanks - hadn't considered going that deep then backtracking.

Looks like others have already been down that route.

Just for clarity, I don't need any spares; I was just wondering who the
real manufacturers might be.

http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/about-the-appliance-industry/manufacturer-information/3575-lamona-appliances

"From what we can gather products are largely sourced from Beko,
Candy, Fagor Brandt, Glen Dimplex and the other usual rebranding
specialists around the globe."

"Integrated dishwashers from the usual Chinese suspects of Haier and
Midea among others."
