I had a similar problem with a bosch vibrating tool (delta sander) and
it turned out to be a fatigue fracture in an internal wire. Trivial to fix.

My first one did that after about 18 months. I suspected the switch,
but before I got round to trying to repair it I had a desperate need
in the middle of a job, so I bought another one.

Avoid Bosch. They are overpriced rubbish. A friend burnt out a newish green
sander and then a blue Bosch replacement broke. He is on the second blue
Bosch. Overrated trash.

Maybe, but the customer service is great. I've had my PMF 180 repaired
3 times under warranty, even though times 2 and 3 were well beyond the
stated warranty period. Phone them on Tuesday, and they will collect
it on Wednesday, and probably return it on Friday.

Yes, but it gets pretty heavy use, and each time it's away for about 3
days. Better that than either a no brand one for a few pounds less
that can't be repaired, or a Fein at 4 times the price. As long as
they keep repairing it, I'm happy.

Yeah, a bit like the shite Microsoft OE that you're using to post to
usenet. It's broken, go fix it you fucking moron.
