Dulux weathershield!

(About to have spray on coating removed from timber framed house(!)
and wondering what horrors will be found underneath....)
There are alot of companies selling similar services, which claim that
you won't need to paint your property again for x number of years.
Admittedly there are some very good products out there which are applied
by airless spray to obtain a higher build in one application than a
brush/roller. However 'Protective Life' is quite different from
'Decorative Life', in 10 years time the coating will be dirty, might
have organic growth present, and you may want a change of colour.
Personally Water-borne masonry paints such as Sandtex and weathershield
are quite sufficiant, offering up to 15 year BBA certificates, easily
and cheaply applied, huge range of colours etc...
If you want a shock... ask for a quotation and check out the price! I
don't know Protex or the product they are using... but it sure won't
come cheap and in a domestic situation is unlikely to offer any benefits
over a good quality exterior masonry paint system.

They require very careful surface preparation, and then application to
get the best out of them.
You can buy these super paints from industrial paint suppliers but they
are expensive, but will can last for ios of yeears if applied properly.
The companies that offer this service are geared up to applying these
coatings , but they charge Thousands of pound for doing so. The resin
would cost 100s of pounds.
You make the choice.
