OT: Bellrock (gyprock) construction

Obviously not a DIY task, but I wondered about a non-standard
construction method known (locally at least) as Bellrock, which I
understand consists of gypsum plaster panels. It seems mortgages are
not available on such properties. What is am wondering is whether -
short of demolition - there is a recognised and approved method of
remedying such properties.

my perents bought a bellrock Lawrence house in Paisley in
1959....never had a problem selling it in 2012

it is according to Google search, but you can only see the
first few pages (of an expensive book).
